Y型分采管柱和Y型合采管柱是海上常用的电潜泵人工举升完井管柱。其中，Y型合采管柱结构简单，施工较容易，在各层压力系统和物体流性比较一致情况下，各层同时生产。Y型分采管柱适合于多层系油藏进行单层分采，不控制合采或控制合采，一般通过钢丝作业实施。如果油井在开发初期具有自喷能力，也可直接自喷生产。采用电潜泵实现人工举升采油具有排液量大、井口压力高、地面设备简单、占地面积小等优点，是海上油田人工举升的主要方式。
